How to obtain and use the Wessex Mobile App . .
I-phone users: go to the Apple Store to download the app, and once you've done so, register your information and input your card details, or use PingIt. (These are held securely and we won’t share your information with anyone else.)
Android users: go to the Android Play Store to download the app, and once you've done so, register your information and input your card details, or use PingIt. (These are held securely and we won’t share your information with anyone else.)
Having registered you can log in and straight away you can add the ticket you wish to purchase to your basket and click complete when you are ready to buy it.
Confirm your payment and your Wessex ticket will be stored in the 'Your Tickets' section at the bottom of the screen on the app. It is then ready for you to activate when you wish to use it. Tickets purchased on the app will be mobile phone tickets, therefore please ensure you purchase them on the device that you wish to use as your mobile ticket. Please note you will not be sent a pass in the post.
You will need internet or a 3G signal to activate a ticket, but you mustn't do so until you are about to board the bus, as single journey tickets are time sensitive and have to be shown to the driver within 15 minutes of activation. If you use the app to buy a 10 Journey ticket, you will be issued with 10 single tickets in ‘Your Tickets’ section. You should activate each ticket individually and only when you require it for travel.
When you board your bus, show your smart phone screen to the driver. Mobile phone tickets use a series of colours and words to help ensure that they are valid on that particular day, and the driver will use the ticket machine to check them.
